“We bought our home in Benton in 2020 with privacy fences having just been installed. The sides of our house are a natural drainage route for water during flash flooding and our fence acts as a dam, causing water to pool when the drainage system becomes overwhelmed. When the remnants of Hurricane Beryl came through we had so much rain that the weight of the pooling water knocked down the fences, but not before it had started running through our entire house. We do not live in a floodplain and did not have flood insurance. Needless to say this is going to be expensive to resolve.
